Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · CHS girls’ swim team places 12th at Rock the Blocks meet


Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ swim teams competed at the Rock the Block meet at University of Louisville’s Ralph Wright Natatorium on Saturday, Jan. 16.

Out of 26 teams competing, the girls’ team finished in 12th place. The boys’ team didn’t place in the Top 16 teams.

In the girls’ 200-yard medley relay, the team of CHS senior Kathryn Doss, junior Mallory Haley and Campbellsville Middle School eighth-graders Isabella Osborne and Bailey Smith finished in 21st place out of 38 teams.

The boys’ team, made up of CHS junior Daniel Silva, sophomore Bryce Richardson, freshman Brandon Greer and CMS eighth-grader Gavin Johnson, placed 17th out of 24 teams.

CHS junior Mallory Haley placed 23rd in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle. Eighth-graders Isabella Osborne and Bailey Smith were 93rd and 104th, respectively. Eighth-grader Aleah Knifley finished in 125th place, CHS freshman Natalie Caldwell was 147th and eighth-grader Emily Rodgers finished in 155th place.

In the boys’ 50-yard freestyle, CHS sophomore Bryce Richardson was 25th, junior Daniel Silva was 28th, junior Jon Tanner Coppage was 56th, freshman Brandon Greer was 63rd, CMS sixth-grader Seth Hash was 71st and eighth-grader Gavin Johnson finished in 77th place.

Bailey Smith, a CMS eighth-grader, finished the girls’ 50-yard breaststroke in 57th place.

In the boys’ 50-yard breaststroke, CHS junior Daniel Silva was 19th, CMS eighth-grader Gavin Johnson finished in 30th place and junior Jon Tanner Coppage was 41st.

CHS senior Kathryn Doss finished in 13th place in the girls’ 100-yard individual medley. Gracyne Hash, an eighth-grader at CMS, finished in 53rd place.

Doss finished in 11th place in the girls’ 50-yard breaststroke. Hash finished in 65th place.

CHS sophomore Bryce Richardson finished the boys’ 50-yard breaststroke in 25th place.

CMS eighth-grader Isabella Osborne finished the girls’ 50-yard butterfly in 40th place. And Brandon Greer, a CHS freshman, also finished the boys’ race in 40th place.

In the girls’ 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of CHS senior Kathryn Doss, junior Mallory Haley and CMS eighth-graders Isabella Osborne and Bailey Smith finished in 16th place out of 39 teams.

The CHS team of CHS juniors Daniel Silva and Jon Tanner Coppage, sophomore Bryce Richardson and freshman Brandon Greer finished the boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay in 20th place out of 26 teams.

The team will compete next in Russell County on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Region competition is set for Feb. 12 and 13 in Elizabethtown.
