Multiple Teams · CHS boys’, girls’ golf players bring home awards at Heartland Conference

Campbellsville High School boys’ and girls’ golf players brought home honors from the Heartland Conference tournament on Monday, Sept. 12.

The boys’ team finished in second place.

In the individual competition, CHS junior Alex Doss finished in 72 strokes and tied for second place. CHS sophomore Layton Hord finished in third place at 73 strokes. As such, Doss and Hord were named to the all-conference team.

For the girls’ team, sophomore Abbie Dicken competed as an individual and finished in third place. She was also named to the all-conference team.

The tournament was at Lincoln Holmstead in Springfield.

David Payne is the CHS girls’ golf coach.

Dicken will compete again on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Campbellsville Country Club against Thomas Nelson High School.

Jim Ward is the CHS boys’ golf coach.

The team will compete again on Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Marion County and on Thursday, Sept. 15, at Campbellsville Country Club against Nelson County.
