Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · CHS swim teams finish fourth, seventh at meet


Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ swim teams finished fourth and seventh, respectively, at the Campbellsville Taylor County Invite on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Campbellsville University.

CHS senior swimmers Mallory Haley, Daniel Silva and Jon Tanner Coppage were honored in a special ceremony.

And several CHS swimmers finished in the top of their events.

In the girls’ 200 meter medley relay, the CHS team finished in fifth place. The team includes senior Mallory Haley and freshman Gracyne Hash, Bailey Smith and Isabella Osborne.

In the girls’ 200 meter freestyle, CHS senior Mallory Haley finished fourth.

CHS sophomore Brandon Greer finished fourth in the boys’ 200 meter freestyle.

In the girls’ 50 meter freestyle, CHS freshman Isabella Osborne finished fourth. CHS freshmen Bailey Smith and Emily Rodgers finished 16th and 23rd, respectively.

In the boys’ 50 meter freestyle, CHS junior Alex Doss was fourth, senior Daniel Silva was 13th, senior Jon Tanner Coppage was 24th, Campbellsville Middle School seventh-grader Seth Hash was 30th and CHS freshman Gavin Johnson was 32nd.

CHS sophomore Brandon Greer finished ninth in the boys’ 100 meter butterfly.

Mallory Haley, a senior, finished second in the girls’ 100 meter freestyle. CHS freshman Emily Rodgers was 23rd.

CHS junior Alex Doss was 14th in the boys’ 100 meter freestyle. CMS seventh-grader Seth Hash was 22nd and senior Jon Tanner Coppage was 25th.

In the girls’ 200 meter freestyle relay, the CHS girls’ team finished fourth. The team includes senior Mallory Haley and freshmen Bailey Smith, Isabella Osborne and Gracyne Hash.

The CHS boys’ team finished sixth in the 200 meter freestyle relay. The team includes seniors Jon Tanner Coppage and Daniel Silva, junior Alex Doss and seventh-grader Seth Hash.

In the girls’ 100 meter backstroke, CHS freshman Gracyne Hash finished fourth.

CHS freshman Bailey Smith finished fifth in the girls’ 100 meter breaststroke. Daniel Silva, a senior, finished the boys’ race in seventh place, and freshman Gavin Johnson was 11th.

And in the boys’ 400 meter freestyle relay, the CHS team finished fifth. The team includes seniors Jon Tanner Coppage and Daniel Silva, junior Alex Doss and sophomore Brandon Greer.

Overall, the CHS girls’ team finished fourth, defeating Taylor County, North Hardin, Bethlehem, Fort Knox, Thomas Nelson and John Hardin high schools.

The boys’ team finished seventh, defeating Bethlehem, Nelson County and Thomas Nelson high schools.
