Boys Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Tennis · CHS tennis duo plays at state tournament


Campbellsville High School tennis doubles partners Mallory Haley, a senior, and freshman Victoria Cox played in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association state tennis tournament last week.

Haley, who graduated from CHS last Saturday, and Cox advanced to the tournament after faring well in this year’s region tournament.

At region tournament, the duo won their first, second and third round matches. The two were eliminated in the fourth round, which is the state-qualifying round.

At the state tournament at the University of Kentucky on Thursday, May 18, Haley and Cox were eliminated in their first round match.

Several other CHS tennis players fared well at the region tournament, which was in Elizabethtown.

For the boys’ team, CHS junior Cody Davis won his first and second round matches, but was eliminated in the third.

Doubles team Zack Settle, a senior, and junior Cass Kidwell won their first and second round matches. They were eliminated in the third.

Tyler Hardy coaches the boys’ team, and Bradley Harris is the girls’ team coach.
