Girls Junior Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Softball · CHS softball players honored


Campbellsville High School softball players were recently honored for their hard work and dedication during the 2017 season.

The players were treated to a meal at Creek Side Restaurant, and head coach Weston Jones handed out several awards.

Brenna Wethington, who graduated in May, received the Most Home Runs Award, along with the Leadership Award.

Kailey Morris, who also graduated in May, received the Defense Award and Leadership Award.

Caitlin Bright, who will a senior this fall, received the Coaches Award.

Kenzi Forbis received the Offense Award and Pitching Award. She will be a freshman this fall.

Also a freshman this fall, Abi Wiedewitsch received the 110% Award. Sydney Wilson, who will be a sophomore, also received the 110% Award.

And Catlyn Clausen, a freshman this fall, received the Most Stolen Bases Award.

Other players recognized at the banquet for their hard work this season include Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Olivia Fields, sophomores Lauryn Agathen, Bailey Thompson and Shallan Philpott, juniors Malaya Hoskins and Dee Simpson and seniors Vonnea Smith, Kayla Young, Kiyah Barnett and Nena Barnett.

Weston Jones is the head softball coach. Matthew Schmuck is assistant.
