Multiple Teams · CHS boys’ golf team is runner-up at Heartland Conference tournament


Campbellsville High School boys’ golf team is the runner-up in this year’s Heartland Conference tournament.

This is the third year in a row that the team has finished the tournament in second place.

CHS competed against Adair, Green, Marion, Washington and Taylor counties.

Finishing the course in 308 strokes, CHS was the second place team to Taylor County.

CHS senior Alex Doss finished in 69 strokes, for second place in the individual competition.

Doss and junior Layton Hord, who shot a 72 for the day, were named to the all-conference team. Hord finished third in the individual competition.

CHS girls’ golf player Abbie Dicken also competed in the Heartland Conference tournament.

She finished at an 85 for the day, narrowly missing fourth place.

Cassidy Decker is the CHS boys’ golf coach.

And Ashley Goodin is the girls’ golf coach.

The boys’ team and Dicken will compete in KHSAA region tournaments on Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26, respectively.
