Campbellsville High School boys’ golf team is the runner-up in this year’s KHSAA fourth region tournament, which advances the team to the state tournament.
As a team, CHS shot a 306.
Layton Hord, a junior, finished as runner-up in the individual competition. He finished in 73 strokes.
Alex Doss, a senior, had a 75.
CHS senior Connor Wilson finished with a 77.
Myles Murrell, a junior, scored an 81, and freshman Kameron Smith had an 82.
CHS competed against Green, Russell, Casey, Anderson, Lincoln, Washington, Nelson, Mercer, Adair, Garrard, Marion, Boyle and Taylor counties, West Jessamine, Danville, East Jessamine, Bethlehem, Bardstown and Thomas Nelson.
This year’s state tournament is set for Monday, Oct. 2, through Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Bowling Green Country Club.
The team competed in the state tournament last year, for the first time since 1977, and finished in 14th place.
