Football · CHS football team wins region championship

For the third time in program history, the Campbellsville High School football team has won a region championship.

CHS took on Crittenden County on Friday, Nov. 17, in the third round of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association playoffs.

CHS won the match up a score of 44-8.

This is the first Class A Region 1 championship win for the Eagles since the 1998-1999 season.

Devonte Cubit, a senior, scored five touchdowns. Malachi Corley, a sophomore, also scored.

Dakota Reardon, a junior, led his team with nine tackles.

CHS will host Beechwood High School in the state semifinals on Friday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Dave Fryrear Field.

Dale Estes is the CHS head football coach.

Assistants are Herb Wiseman, Tyler Hardy, Robbie Gribbins, Bronson Gowdy, Aaron Webb and Will Griffin.
