Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · CHS girls’, boys’ basketball teams sweep Taylor County

For the second time this season, Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ basketball teams have swept Taylor County.

The teams met for the second time this season on Friday, Jan. 5.

In the girls’ game, CHS senior Kiyah Barnett led her team with 14 points. Her twin sister Nena added 13.

Final score was 54-39.

In the boys’ match up, sophomore Malachi Corley led with 21 points. Arren Hash, a freshman, had 12.

CHS seniors Connor Wilson and Ethan Lay made free throws in overtime to capture the win for their team.

Final score was 66-63.

Anthony Epps is the CHS girls’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Natalia Warren and Debbie Gowdy-Smith.

The girls’ team will travel to Russell County on Monday, Jan. 8.

Tim Davis is in his 23rd year as CHS boys’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Cody Wills, Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith and Chris “Peewee” Smith.

The boys’ team will travel to Hart County on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
