Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Campbellsville cross country team competes in Green County

Campbellsville Independent Schools cross country team recently opened its season with a meet in Green County.

The team traveled to compete in the Green County All Comers meet on Thursday, Aug. 23.

In the boys’ varsity race, CHS senior Ian McAninch finished in 23rd place, at 10:30, which is a new personal record for the course and the 1.6-mile race.

Jonathan Sparks, a sophomore, finished in 53rd place, at 12:49.

And CHS sophomore Jake Dicken was 57th, at 13:22.

In the girls’ varsity race, CHS freshman Serenity Ford was 26th, at 15:16.

In the middle school race, several students competed for the first time.

In the boys’ race, Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Chase Hord was 10th, finishing in 11:33.

Rowan Petett, a sixth-grader, was 49th, in 14:44.

And Tye Rhodes, a fourth-grader at Campbellsville Elementary School, was 64th, finished in 18:46.

In the girls’ race, fourth-grader Baylee Pike finished in 30th place, at 15:19.

CES third-grader Izzy Brunelle finished in 42nd place, in 18:31.

And eighth-grader Glory Deckard finished in 44th place, at 20:54.

The CHS cross country team will compete again on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Green County Cow Days Cross Country Festival.
