Boys Varsity Golf · CHS boys’ golf team competes at state tournament

Campbellsville High School boys’ golf team competed at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association tournament on Friday, Oct. 5.

The team played at Bowling Green Country Club.

Overall, the team finished in 340 strokes, missing the cut to advance to the second day of play.

Layton Hord, a senior, finished in 79 strokes.

Fellow senior Myles Murrell finished in 80 strokes.

And Casey Hardin, who will also graduate in May, finished at 92 strokes.

CHS sophomore Kameron Smith finished in 89 strokes, and his classmate Colin Harris finished in 103.

The tournament ends a great season for the Eagles.

For the fourth year in a row, the team won the All “A” fifth region championship.

At the All “A” state tournament, the team finished in ninth place.

And the CHS team was the runner-up in this year’s Heartland Conference tournament.

Blake Milby is in his first year as the boys’ golf team coach.
