Boys Varsity Football · CHS football team defeats Caverna to win district title


Campbellsville High School football team defeated Caverna on Friday, Oct. 19, to win its second district title in as many years.

Final score was 57-0.

CHS senior Charlie Pettigrew, juniors Malachi Corley and Braden Paige, sophomores Reggie Thomas and Blase Wheatley and freshman Logan Phillips scored touchdowns for the Eagles.

Mark Rigsby, a junior, kicked seven extra points.

In its district, CHS competes against Bethlehem, Caverna and Fort Knox.

With the win against Caverna, the CHS team has a perfect 3-0 record in district play.

CHS will travel to LaRue County on Friday, Oct. 26, for the final game of the regular season.

Dale Estes is the head football coach.

Assistant coaches are Herb Wiseman, Tyler Hardy, Robbie Gribbins, Bronson Gowdy, Aaron Webb, Will Griffin, Anthony Epps, Ries Ewing and D.J. Moore.
