Campbellsville High School cross country runner Ian McAninch, a senior, has advanced to state competition after finishing well at region.

The CHS cross country team competed in the Class A Region 2 meet on Saturday, Oct. 27.

In the varsity boys’ race, McAninch finished in 25th place, in 20:12.

Chase Hord, a Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader, finished in 47th place, at 22:21.

CHS sophomore Jonathan Sparks finished in 48th place, at 22:25.

And Jake Dicken, a sophomore, finished in 54th place, at 23:30.

In the varsity girls’ race, Serenity Ford, a freshman, finished in 30th place. She set a new personal record, at 26:12.

McAninch, who also competed at the state level last season, will run in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association meet on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
