Boys Varsity Basketball · CIS to host basketball league

Campbellsville Independent Schools will host a developmental basketball league for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Players will meet for practice on Sundays, for about 40 minutes. Players will work on skill development, and then play a game.

Campbellsville High School boys’ basketball head coach Tim Davis, along with assistant coaches Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith, Chris “PeeWee” Smith and Jordan Ballard, will coordinate the league.

Players will work on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, screening, footwork and more.

Activities will be in the Campbellsville Middle School multi-purpose room and CHS gym.

Participants will be grouped based on age, grade and ability level.

Those interested can sign up on Friday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the CHS gymnasium.

There will be an evaluation practice on Monday, Nov. 5, in the CHS gym.

Students in kindergarten and first grades will attend from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

Second- and third-graders will attend from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.

And those in fourth, fifth and sixth grades will attend from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Cost is $35 per participant and each will receive a T-shirt and secondary insurance coverage. Cost for two participants in the same family will be $60.
