Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · CHS girls’, boys’ basketball teams take on Marion County


Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams recently took on Marion County.

In the girls’ game, CHS lost by a score of 31-48.

CHS freshman Bre Gowdy, sophomore Abi Wiedewitsch and senior Kalisha Murphy each had five points.

Rylee Petett and Kaylyn Smith, freshmen, each had four rebounds.

Anthony Epps is the girls’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Tiarra Cecil and Debbie Gowdy-Smith.

In the boys’ game, the CHS team lost by a score of 70-77.

Taj Sanders, a senior, led his team with 21 points and seven rebounds.

Malachi Corley, a junior, added 15 points and four rebounds.

Tim Davis is in his 24th year as CHS boys’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Cody Wills, Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith, Chris “Peewee” Smith and Jordan Ballard.

CHS girls’ and boys’ varsity teams will travel to Taylor County on Friday, Jan. 4, for a doubleheader.

Game time is 6 p.m.
