Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · CHS girls’, boys’ basketball teams take on Taylor County


Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams recently took on Taylor County.

In the girls’ game, CHS was victorious.

Final score was 40-36.

CHS freshman Lainey Watson led her team with 17 points.

Bre Gowdy, a freshman, had seven points, and sophomore Abi Wiedewitsch had six.

CHS senior Kalisha Murphy led with six rebounds. Gowdy and junior Katelyn Miller each had five.

Anthony Epps is the girls’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Tiarra Cecil and Debbie Gowdy-Smith.

In the boys’ game, CHS lost a close game.

Final score was 68-79.

CHS junior Malachi Corley led his team with 30 points and nine rebounds.

Taj Sanders, a senior, added 18 points and had eight rebounds.

Tim Davis is in his 24th year as CHS boys’ basketball head coach.

Assistant coaches are Cody Wills, Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith, Chris “Peewee” Smith and Jordan Ballard.

CHS girls’ and boys’ varsity teams will travel to Taylor County on Friday, Jan. 4, for a doubleheader.

Game time is 6 p.m.
