Eagles News · Board of Education member to be inducted into Hall of Fame

Campbellsville Board of Education member Mitch Overstreet has been chosen as this year’s Campbellsville High School inductee into the 5th Region Athletic Director’s Hall of Fame.

Overstreet attended CHS from 1976 to 1980.

During his four years at CHS, Overstreet was the Eagle football and basketball manager, trainer and statistician. He also ran track for the Eagles.

In 1979, Overstreet began his career and love of coaching youth football for the Campbellsville Community Club Eagles.

He served youth at Campbellsville and Taylor County schools in a feeder program to their respective schools.

Overstreet retired from the volunteer coaching position in 2013 after 35 years of service.

He served the CHS athletic programs after graduating, as the video operator for the football and basketball programs, a volunteer position he had for 10 years.

In 2006, Overstreet was elected to serve on the Campbellsville Board of Education. He is now in his 13th year of service.

Overstreet has been married to Karen Overstreet for 21 years.

CHS will recognize Overstreet on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at half time of the boys’ varsity game vs. Green County. The night begins with the girls’ match up at 6 p.m.

A reception for Overstreet will be hosted in the cafeteria at the conclusion of the game.

All former players and friends are invited to attend.

Overstreet will also be recognized before the girls’ region championship game at Green County High School on Tuesday, March 5.
