Boys Varsity Baseball · CHS baseball season ends with loss to Marion County


Campbellsville High School baseball team recently ended its season with a loss in a close game with Marion County.

Final score was 4-5.

The Eagles took on Marion County in the first round of the 20th District tournament.

CHS had the lead by a score of 4-0 after three innings, but couldn’t hold on to get the win.

CHS seniors Ryan Kearney and Treyce Mattingly, junior Dillon Whitaker and sophomores John Orberson, Arren Hash and Tristin Faulkner had hits for the Eagles.

Hash took the loss on the pitcher’s mound, striking out three.

Kearney also pitched, and struck out 15.

The Eagles finished the season with a 25-11 record and winning the fifth region All “A” tournament and sectional game.

Kearney, Mattingly, Orberson and Hash were named to the 20th District all season team.

Kearney was also named to the 20th District all tournament team.

Blake Milby is the head baseball coach.

Zach Lewis, Lynn Kearney, Sarge Pollock, Phil Gowdy and Caleb Gupton are assistants.
