Campbellsville High School football team hosted its annual bass fishing tournament on Friday, July 26, at Green River Lake.
In all, 38 boats were entered into the competition, with about 80 competitors.
Proceeds from the competition will help pay expenses for the upcoming season.
Delayne Smothers and Chris Smothers won the first-place prize, at $1,000 cash.
Second place winners were Scott and Tina Sagrecy. They received $500.
Taking home the $250 prize for third place were Grant Adams and Job Hunt.
And the fourth-place winners, receiving $100, were Mark Burton and Brett Burton. They also won the big fish pot, which was worth $380.
Sponsors for the tournament were All-Star Food Mart, Don Franklin, Community Trust Bank and Sturdi Built Barnes & Metal Sales.
The season will begin on Friday, Aug. 16, with a scrimmage in Monroe County at 8 p.m.
CHS will play in the Forcht Bank Bowl at Campbellsville University on Saturday, Aug. 24. CHS will take on Casey County at 8:30 p.m.
The first game at the CHS field will be on Friday, Aug. 30, when the Eagles host Adair County at 8 p.m.
