Campbellsville High School bowling team recently won its first-ever region championship.
The team competed in the Region 2 tournament on Friday, Jan. 24, in Elizabethtown.
CHS was the eighth seed in the tournament and upset many teams to win.
In the first round, the CHS team defeated North Hardin by a score of 3-1.
CHS upset No. 1 seed Russell County in the second round, by a score of 3-2.
In the semi-finals, the Eagles defeated Central Hardin by a score of 3-0.
And the Eagles defeated Taylor County in the finals by a score of 3-2 to win the school’s first bowling region championship in school history.
The CHS team will play in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association tournament on Friday, Feb. 7, at Executive Strike & Spare in Louisville.
Players include seniors Gavin Johnson, Patrick Walker, Taylor Brewer and Dalton Brown, juniors Jake Dicken and Noah Mardis and freshmen Levi Dicken and Chris Clark.
Dakota Pendleton, Stephen Tucker and Matt Sallee are the CHS bowling coaches.
