Campbellsville High School archery team recently brought home several awards at Taylor County.
The CHS team finished first, defeating Taylor, Elizabethtown and Wayne counties.
CHS archers scored 3,239 points.
MaCayla Falls, a sophomore, finished first in the girls’ competition, with a score of 285.
In the boys’ competition, senior Cole Kidwell was second, with 280 points, and junior Arren Hash finished fifth, scoring 267 points.
In the CHS team’s first-ever 3D tournament, archers finished first, defeating Taylor and Wayne counties.
Campbellsville Middle School archers scored their highest team score in history, at 2,969 points.
Eighth-grader Hunter Falls was second overall in the boys’ competition, with 265 points.
Several archers scored perfect 50s, including Kidwell, MaCayla Falls, who had two, and freshman LeeAnna Darst.
Several others scored career highs at the tournament.
They include seniors Lauryn Agathen at 252 and Alli Wilson at 229; sophomore Grant Lawson at 260; CMS eighth-graders Kayden Birdwell at 261, Ashton Davis at 217, Maddox Lawler at 239 and Dalton Morris at 227; seventh-graders Dakota Broyles at 187, Joseph Gutierrez at 203, Kaylyn Lawson at 262, Mellany Parker at 214 and Lillian Sears at 222; and sixth-graders Grayson Dooley at 236 and Brayden Judd at 252.
