Campbellsville battled 19th District Champion Nelson County to the end but come up short 7-6. CHS led 6-5 in the bottom of the 5th but Nelson County scored 2.
Ethan Lay and Treyce Mattingly led Eagles hitters with 2 hits each. Lay had 2 RBI’s. Lane Bottoms had a single and 3 RBI’s. Jackson Hinton also singled. John Orberson reached base 3 times and Ryan Kearney twice with walks.
Arren Hash went the distance getting stronger as the game went along. He gave up 10 hits with 7 K.
Eagles finish the season 14-17 with a young squad, losing only 2 seniors.

Marion County captures 20th District Championship 6-0 over the Eagles. Treyce Mattingly and Ryan Kearney pick up the only 2 CHS hits.
John Orberson and Jackson Hinton pitched 3 innings each for the Eagles. Both Campbellsville and Marion County will advance to the 5th Region Tournament next week in Marion County.
20th District Awards were announced after the game. CHS Award Winners-

Game Recap

Campbellsville defeated Taylor County 8-7 in 20th District game at Adair County. Eagles trailed 7-4 in the bottom of the 6th. Ryan Kearney led off the 6th with a double off the left field wall. Ethan Lay walked. Kearney and Lay advanced on wild pitch. Lane Bottoms single to center scored Kearney. Kameron Smith pinch ran for Bottoms. Trey Mattingly hit 3 run HR to put the Eagles on top 8-7.
Arren Hash picked up the win in relief of Ethan Lay and Ryan Kearney. Hash went 1 1/3 innings allowing 0 hits or runs. Lay went 1/3 inning. Kearney pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs with 12 K. He also had 3 hits.
Jackson Hinton, Arren Hash and Noah Hughes had hits as well.

Game Recap

Eagles watch the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 20-1 loss to Washington County. CHS only managed singles by John Orberson, Tristin Faulkner and Jackson Hinton, who drove in the lone Eagle run.
Arren Hash, Jackson Hinton and Tristin Faulkner pitched for the Eagles.
Seniors Zack Bottoms and Jared Brewster were recognized before the game.
Coach Kirby Smith was honored before the game for his outstanding leadership of the Campbellsville High School Baseball program the past 11 years. Coach Smith will become the CIS Superintendent July 1.
Eagles host Central Hardin tomorrow at 6pm. This will be the Eagles final tuneup before the 20th District Tournament begins next week at Adair County.
