Eagles go down 5-3 as Panthers rally late. Three CHS errors in the top of the 7th allow Etown to come out with the win.
Ryan Kearney pitched 6+ innings allowing 1 earned run with 8 K’s. Wyatt Houk relieved in the last inning.
Kearney and Lane Bottoms led the Eagles with 2 hits each.
CHS travels to Casey County Thursday. Eagles have added a Varsity/JV DH Saturday at Russell County 11am.

Meet Recap

Two members of the CHS Track team traveled to compete in the Bryan Station Woodall Invitational. There was 30 schools participating. CHS Sophomore DaeSean VanCleave competed in the 100 Dash. He finished 27th out of 53 runners with a PR time of 11.98. CHS Freshman Taliyah Hazelwood competed in the 100 and 200 Dashes. She finished 11th out of 46 runners in the 100 Dash with a time of 13.51. Taliyah finished 10th out of 36 runners in the 200 Dash with a PR time of 27.17.

Eagles can’t overcome Commander 4 run third inning and lose at Washington County 7-4.
Zack Bottoms went 4 2/3 innings on the mound only allowing 2 earned runs scattering 4 hits.
BrennonWheeler led the Eagles with a single and double. Ethan Lay, Ryan Kearney, Wyatt Houk, Donnie Osinger, Lane Bottoms and Noah Hughes added singles.
CHS hosts Etown Tuesday, May 2 at 5:30.

Game Recap

Eagles knock off John Hardin Bulldogs 4-3 on a walk off single by Wyatt Houk scoring Ethan Lay. Lay singled,stole second and advanced on line drive to center.
Noah Hughes picks up the win in relief going 1/3 inning. John Orberson went 6 2/3 innings surrendering 3 runs,6 hits, 1BB and 8K.
Eagles had 10 hits. Lane Bottoms, Ethan Lay and Wyatt Houk each had 2 hits. John Orberson and Jackson Hinton each had singles. Zack Bottoms had RBI double to tie the game. Donnie Osinger homered to center to bring Eagles to within 1 run.
CHS travels to Washington County tomorrow morning for a 10 am start.

In Girls action at the Taylor Co All Comers meet, Taliyah Hazelwood finished first in the 100 and 200 Dashes. Natalie Caldwell finished 1st in the Shot Put and Discus Throws. Katelyn Miller finished 2nd in the Shot and 4th in Discus. Haley Morris finished 3rd in the Discus. Isis Coleman finished 3rd in the 100 Dash. Kitana Taylor finished 2nd in the 200 Dash. AunDaya Coleman finished 4th in the 200 Dash.

In boys action, DeaSean VanCleave finished 1st in the 100 Dash. Joe Pipes finished 1st in the 400 Dash and 4th in the Long Jump. Evan McAninch finished 1st in the High Jump. Tristan Johnson finished 2nd in the High Jump, 3rd in shot Put, and 4th in the 100 Dash. Skyler Burchett finished 3rd in the 400 Dash and 4th in the 200 Dash. Jake Dicken finished 4th in the 800 Run. The Boys 4 x 200 finished 2nd, team members are Christian Berry, Evan McAninch, Reggie Thomas, and Tristan Johnson.

Eagles fall 3-1 to Marion County who secured the District Regular Season title and tournament number 1 seed with the win.
Eagles outhit the Knights 9-7 but stranded 10 runners. John Orberson led the Eagles with 3 hits including a double to start the game. Ryan Kearney had 2 hits. Ethan Lay, Wyatt Houk, Donnie Osinger and Zack Bottoms had hits.
Ryan Kearney pitched 7 innings allowing 2 earned runs and 5 K.

There were tornado watches out on Wednesday night; however, Cardinal Field was a pocket of safety until the line of storms passed Lexington. The Knights of Lexington Catholic led after the fifth inning, 3-0. The game was supposed to last 7 innings; however, the coaches and umpires agreed that the sixth inning was the final inning due to the storms’ expected arrival.

The Knights had scored all 3 of their runs in the second inning due to hitting 2 doubles and 2 singles. However, the Cardinals had only 4 hits for the first 5 innings combined heading into the bottom of the sixth, and final, inning. The Cardinals needed the winds of change to carry them into the sixth inning…

Wyatt Houk’s walk off single scored Ryan Kearney from 2nd and Campbellsville defeats Adair County 9-8 in 9 innings.
Lane Bottoms led the Eagles with 3 hits including 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Wyatt Houk and Ryan Kearney both had 2 hits each with a single and double. Donnie Osinger also singled.
Wyatt Houk picked up the win in relief of Brennon Wheeler going 7 innings. Houk allowed 3 runs, with 7K.
Eagles host Marion County tomorrow 5:30.
