CIS to host basketball league

Campbellsville Independent Schools will host a developmental basketball league for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, starting in November. Those eligible to attend are students attending Campbellsville Independent Schools or Kentucky Christian Academy. CHS girls’, boys’ basketball players honored

Campbellsville High School girls’ and boys’ basketball players were recently honored for their dedication and hard work this season. CHS junior Connor Wilson was named to the 20th District all-academic team. And freshman Malachi Corley was named to the 20th District all-tournament team. CHS senior Caylie Blair was named to the 20th District all-academic team.

Campbellsville High School girls’ basketball players recently received awards for their hard work during the 2016-2017 season. Players were honored for their dedication to their team during a banquet on Sunday, March 19. Award winners include: Varsity Most Improved Award – Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Abi Wiedewitsch. Varsity 110% Award – CHS senior Caylie Blair.

Campbellsville High School junior Nena Barnett has been named to the 5th region all-season team. The 5th Region Basketball Coaches Association recently made the announcement. Campbellsville High School girls’ basketball head coach Anthony Epps has been named the 2016-2017 5th region Coach of the Year. Campbellsville High School girls’ basketball team took on Anderson County on Friday, Feb. 17. Despite fighting to the final buzzer, CHS couldn’t get the win. Final score was 39-62. CHS girls’, boys’ basketball teams to play in 20th district tournament

Campbellsville High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will play in the 20th district tournament this week at Adair County High School. The girls’ tournament begins on Tuesday, Feb. 21. At 6:30 p.m., Marion County will take on Taylor County. After that game, at 8 p.m., the CHS Lady Eagles will take on Adair County.

Campbellsville High School senior athletes were honored on Friday, Feb. 17. CHS girls’ basketball team took on Anderson County that night, and senior players were honored before the game. CHS girls’ basketball team defeats LaRue County

Campbellsville High School girls’ varsity basketball team defeated LaRue County on Thursday, Feb. 16. Final score was 50-43. CHS junior Kiyah Barnett led her team with 14 points. Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Catlyn Clausen had 12 points and CHS freshman Katelyn Miller had 11. CHS will play in this year’s 20th district tournament next week.
